This is the selection of Images I have taken for my Music Magazine.
The models featured in my photo's are currently already a band, which carry the stereotypical band image.
I have taken the majority of my photo's at Brough Boatyard, I chose this as a place to do my images as the setting in the background is different and contrasts well with the proposition in which the photo's are being taken for.
At first I had the Band stand in a line at the edge of the water with the boat in the background, This works quite well as the colour contrast and positioning looks professional, However it also looks too stereotypical and forced.
Therefore I tried another approach, in which to get the Band members to act more natural, In doing this I got some better photo's of them laughing, talking, and walking.
Once I had a variety of photo's from the Boat Yard, I took some single shots and more group photo's on a golf course. This sounds simple and not very interesting, However, luckily i timed it right so that the sun was just setting in the background. This works well as it silhouette's the trees in the background, and also creates a warm glow from behind the models.
The effect of this is the silhouette background creates a main focus on the model, which is illuminated by the sun.
Overall I am satisfied with the images taken, and they follow the scheme I was after and will suit my magazine genre.
