Analysis Of Existing Double Page Spreads.

 NME Double Page Spread.

This is the double page spread for NME music magazine.
As you can see, it requires the same qualities and schemes as it's previous pages i have analysed (Front cover and Contents Page).
It has the same consistency throughout, e.g the font type, the images and their layout, and the whole overall composition of the magazine.
This page consists of a variety of small articles, which is divided by the use of images and b old headlines.

Usually these pages consist of a main story following through both pages, however this has taken a different approach, and has found a new way to introduce more images.
Therefore, creating my own I may copy this idea, so that I can use more images. Also the images used are not stereotypical band poses, but contain a variety, however still appeal to the same target audience which I defined in my previous analysis of the magazine.
Not only do the images appeal to the target audience, but the choice of text will have to use the correct language and structure, and the topic will need to be relevant to the audience in order to interest them and sustain the popularity of the magazine.

Kerrang Double Page Spread.

This is the double page spread for Kerrang music magazine.
Unlike the NME double page spread I have analysed above, This does not follow the same scheme, for example the text is different size, font, and colour. And the messy, unstructured layout is not shown here.
Usually this would make the magazine unrecognisable, however, due to the popularity of the magazine, here this does not apply.
However, for my own magazine, as I am introducing a new magazine, my design scheme will need to be consistent and recognisable throughout.
Not only is this to make it more know, But in my opinion, this is a better approach as it looks more professional.

Even though the majority of the scheme has not been used here, there is still the idea of the disproportionated images, yet still holds a structure, due to the fact there is an image placed in the corner.

Unlike the NME contents page, this introduces a full story across both pages, and even though there is a few images, they are all relevant to the same story.

Q Double Page Spread.

This is the double page spread for Q magazine.
Like NME, this has followed it's layout and design scheme, and also carries a range of different articles rather than one over a double page spread.
However this is slighty different to NME's, as there is one main story on the right hand side, yet on the left there is captions underneath the pictures. I think I may use this quality in my own work as it uses more images, less text, and also produces a better overall composition of the double page spread, in comparrison to the other two which i have analysed.
This magazine is aimed at an elder audience to the other two, However, the layout is unorganised and overlapping the images. This technique is usually related with a teenage audience, Therefore, by Q magazine taking this approach the design appeals to a wider audience, even if the context doesn't.
